Waterjet Cutting Large Aluminum Plate

This abrasive waterjet cutting project filled the bed of our largest waterjet, whose cutting envelope is 156" x 360". The aluminum plate that was being processed was 4" thick 6061 aluminum with dimensions of 240" x 72".Since abrasive waterjet cutting is a trusted method for thick materials like this 4" thick aluminum, abrasive waterjet was the chosen method for processing the material. The waterjet cutting process was chosen because it is a process with no HAZ, minimum burr and no distortion or warping of materials.
