Gears Gallore

Another task we’ve had the pleasure of completing recently, was an order placed by Columbia Gear Corp., a business that supplies custom gearing and power transmission products.

The mission here was to waterjet cut 1.125” thick carbon steel rounds, which were 7” in diameter. Since the gears needed to be exact replicates in order to function properly, it was important to provide equal accuracy and precision with each and every cut.

Fortunately, waterjet cutting was a great solution. Not only does waterjet do a great job processing steel, but it’s capability to efficiently process the exact design, countless times over, is outstanding.

When all was said and done, the gears were successfully finished on time and the customer was able to use the gears to benefit their company. Fedtech was proud to present the finished products to the business and were confident with the results we received from our waterjet.
