Set to air in the next season on DIY network, Fedtech's latest project was certainly a first on the production floor. This custom designed, custom waterjet cut flower was cut from a 4' x 6' piece of MDF (Medium-Density Fiberboard) that was .750" in thickness. Abrasive waterjet was the process chosen as the material is comparable to wood and would require crisp processing and the ability to cut with tight tolerances.

In the end, the results for the MDF flower were phenomenal. Abrasive waterjet cutting was an excellent choice for the project as it allowed a customized design to be tapered to the customer's exact style while still looking incredibly professional.
