Custom Machined Bronze Parts

These custom machined bronze parts are certainly one-of-a-kind when it comes to elevator railings. The customer (who handles elevators on an everyday basis) wanted high-class railings for one of their elevators.
For starters, the raw bronze material came in 1.5" thick blocks. We were able to machine and mill the blocks to reach the desired shape that would allow for stainless steel inserts to be placed into the grooves of the bronze.
The 304 stainless steel strips were brushed to a #4 finish before being inserted into the bronze parts, for a radiant shine. As you can see in the photos, the bronze was machined to a tight tolerance forcing a close fit with the steel.
With bronze being an expensive material to start with, the project needed to be done flawlessly the first time around and it was. The finished parts are now ready to be inserted and admired by the end customer.
